Hi, my name is John Charles Wilson. I just joined MindFreedom two weeks ago. I went to the "May Day for Ray" protest last year at the Minnesota State Crapitol (misspelling intentional), and got to know Ray Sandford, forced electroshock survivor, personally. Interestingly enough, we know some of the same people, and it is possbile he was in Anoka State Hospital when I was, 1985-1987, and we just don't remember each other. I ran for mayor of Minneapolis last year on the Edgertonite National Party ticket, and I've written an autobiography titled "The Conscience of a Communist" available at http://stores.lulu.com/edgertonite. I'm not a fan of forced meds and shock, but my main objections to the mental "health" system have to do with the misuse of the word "appropriate" to mean "according to our rules" rather than the dictionary meaning of "fitting to the situation". My religion, my politics, my sexuality, all deemed "inappropriate" by the powers that be....
