One sunny afternoon late summer 2009, I went to a nearby park. As I sat on a deck overlooking the river, the following is what came to mind!

“ Sunset “

As the Sun is setting in the West behind me
I am watching the flow of the water
in the Flint River
It will soon be dark her and I will have to leave
Time is moving as swift as the water
and the light is fading
So goes my life as well
Time marches swiftly and carries me along with it
Many years of my life were lost to medication and ECT’s
Then one day I was revived, only to realize
that life had passed me by
and now I too, am in the Sunset of life
There is just a little bit of faint red glow
from the sun
but the sun is nowhere to be seen
The light is fading away
it is growing darker as the sun sets
Very soon I’ll be going home
and the water continues to pass swiftly
down the river, so goes the time
The sun is gone now
Taking with it color and light
The night is fast approaching
I too must be moving on
I must turn my focus to the Eastern Sky
and look up in anticipation
of another day, knowing
this could very well be my last day here
Tomorrow I may be among the clouds
Above the clouds and into the “Great Beyond”
I am watching the Eastern Sky and waiting
to be caught away by my Bridegroom, “Jesus”
“What A Day That Will Be!”
Life passes swiftly by
Don’t waste a moment of the time
that is afforded you
Use it wisely, you will not be sorry
“Look For The Nail Prints!”
Believe, Trust, Receive!
I have two desires;
The want to be needed
The need to be wanted
