I have a user name and a password... Now what?

The My-MFI site currently offers three basic tools for members: profiles, forums, and blogs. All three are available by clicking the "Create content" link on the left hand side of the page, after you log in.

Profiles: You can let other MindFreedom members know more about you, your background and your interests by creating a profile. All the profiles on the site are visible by clicking on the "Member Profiles" tab on the top of the page.

Forums: We have several discussion forums on the site, and a great way to start networking is simply to introduce yourself on the Community forum. Click "Create content" and select "Forum Topic". You can also visit the forums by clicking the "Member Forums" tab at the top of this page. If you see a discussion you'd like to participate in, within one of the forums, just click the "Reply" link below the posting.

Blogs: Every user on the site can keep a blog. To add an entry, click the "Create content" link on the left hand side of the page and select "Blog entry". You can also view blogs by other users - and comment on them - by clicking the "Blogs" tab at the top of this page.

Is My-MFI useful for MindFreedom sponsors and affiliates?

Absolutely! Sponsors and affiliates can use the forums and create blogs like other users, but they have an extra field in their profiles that other users do not.

If a sponsor or affiliate creates a user profile, they can select their "Coalition Role" and identify themselves as a sponsor, a level one affiliate, etc.

If one of these options is selected, their profile will appear automatically in the site-wide list of affiliates and sponsors, viewable by clicking the "Affiliates and Sponsors" tab at the top of this page.

This is an easy way to present a great deal of information about your group to MindFreedom's members.

Keep in mind, too, that because you can create multiple profiles, you can have your own personal member-profile separate from your official profile as an affiliate or sponsor.
